Background

Pat has been a student of healing food and herbal wisdom for many decades. During the 1990s, she led wild herb walks from Riversong Cabin, her 150-year-old home in rural Grey County. Her 'teaching garden' provided the herbs for her workshops on preparing simple healing tinctures, salves, and teas.

Since that time, Crocker has written 24 cookbooks including The Healing Herbs Cookbook (Robert Rose, still in print), The Juicing Bible (Robert Rose, over 800,000 copies in print, translated into over 10 languages), and her newest books, Cooking With Cannabis and The Herbalist's Kitchen (Sterling, June 2018).

Pat is a professional Home Economist (BAA, BEd) and she began her career in food as a high school foods teacher. She founded Crocker International Communications Inc., a niche food public relations company operating in Toronto.

Food, nutrition, plants, and gardens have always been central to Pat's life and work. She began her career teaching food and nutrition to Toronto high school students and those themes have been the central focus for her life's work.
