HOME ECONOMIST AND CULINARY HERBALIST
A professional Home Economist (BAA, BEd). specializing in herbs and healthy foods, Pat was the first to coin the term “culinary herbalist” to describe her unique niche in the larger food community.
Past president of the Ontario Herbalists' Association and the Ontario Home Economics Association, Pat actively participates in the Herb Society of America, the International Herb Association, the International Association of Culinary Professionals, Cuisine Canada and the Culinary Historians of Canada.
Former Home Economic/Family Studies high school teacher with the Toronto District School Board; owner of Crocker International Communications Inc., a niche food public relations company operating in Toronto; and former host of the successful Riversong Herb Walk and Wild Gourmet Lunch programs in the 1990s, Pat knows about food and herbs from the ground up and is passionate about sharing her knowledge.

An award winning author and regular writer for food and garden magazines, Pat's articles have appeared in the Toronto Star, The Ottawa Sun Times, Natural Home Magazine and Health Naturally. She has been profiled in Herbs for Health, the Toronto Sun, Canada's CTV Television and on radio stations throughout the United States and Canada.
Author of seventeen cookbooks including her latest, Kitchen Herbal, one of Pat's titles has topped 1 million copies in print while another has hit 250,000. Two of her books were listed in the 10 best selling cookbooks in the January 19, 2014 Globe and Mail Bestseller List. Pat was honoured by the 2011 International Herb Association Professional Award given for outstanding contributions to the Herb Industry; and she received the 2009 Gertrude H. Foster award from the Herb Society of America for Excellence in Herbal Literature. Her books, The Juicing Bible and The Vegan Cook's Bible have won 'Best in the World' awards from the International Gourmand Culinary Guild.
Pat has lectured at international conventions, is a regular on television, and is a seasoned radio guest. Pat is experienced at sharing her knowledge with audiences large and small in a variety of formats including lectures, food demonstrations and as a media spokesperson.
